We tackled the invasive rhododendron ponticum which is a lover of acid soils and is making a stately progress down the off side of the Swansea Canal opposite the Mond Valley Golf Course.

‘NELLIE’ and ‘ADA’ were sent out on a search and destroy mission, though ‘ADA’ is more of a potter and pea-shooter boat and was happier picking up straggly bits that escaped the main cull.

Paul and Lissa Williams kindly allowed us to use a third rowing boat as well as giving us access to the off side via their back garden so we were completely amphibious.
