TUESDAY 23RD AUGUST: We will be joined at 10.00am by the camera team from BBC Wales who will be giving further publicity to our  continuing efforts to uncover and restore the buried lock under the Old Highways Depot in Pontardawe Road, Clydach. John Evans, the Engineer in charge of burying it in 1973 (second from the left, above), will once agin be travelling from Hay-on-Wye to be with us.

The work party meets at Brownsters cafe, High Street, Clydach  between 8.00 and 9.00am. Work begins at 9.15 to tidy the area next to the Canoe Store, before taking the BBC visitors down to the buried lock and piped canal under the depot.


TUESDAY 23RD AUGUST; Canoe and kayak hire from Coed Gwilym Park, Clydach from 10.00 to 2.00. Canoes, £7: kayaks, £5 and £4.
