This  was a really good day. Everyone learned a lot, but also had fun and enjoyment.
David had prepared a thorough programme and Warren and Hywel worked with him  The technical syllabus included technical skills and rescue skills, and the team gained confidence under their guidancE .
A break at half time gave everyone time to chat until David flung himself in the canal, so rescue skills had to begin.
In the second half capsizing and towing was practised with Anthony capsizing more than most.
Wet exiting came next.  El did it without wetting her hair, not everyone can do that.  A great day and it was so good to see the Sunday volunteers all together.
Sincere thanks must go to David, and Warren, and Hywel and to Toby who towed the canoes to the Neath Basin.
The bonus of the day came when everyone heard that they had gained a Star 1 BCU performance award.
