Tuesday 9th May: Work Party meets at Brownsters Cafe, High Street, Clydach between 8.00 and 9.00am. Work starts at 9.15am at Pontardawe Playing Fields in Trebanos at the point where the canal goes undergound for 800yards on its journey to Pontardawe. We will continue repairing the tow path banks with local stone walls. The  Swansea Canal is a man-made flood prevention  structure. It may no longer be used for commerce but it still ensures that rain water is prevented from pouring down the valley sides straight into the Tawe. These repairs ensure the canal can continue to fulfil this function.
