shuttering WRG 12.7.17.Up by the Pontardawe Playing Fields north of Upper Trebanos Lock,  Gordon has fixed shuttering on top of the sand bags already laid by the Tuesday work parties in the weeks before the WRG summer camp began.  This left the very satisfying job of laying the final coping stones to our very enthustatic volunteers. Here we see Ian applying the  mix and Sue doing the ‘crazy paving’  jigsaw on top of he cement that will look so good when completed.  It is not only pleasing to the eye but a long lasting defence against flooding. The stone is all local Blue Pennant Sandstone which Gareth (in the background) is barrowing up the towpath. The WRG volunteers are from all over the British Isles. Ian is from Ireland and Sue is from Kent.

The Evening Post visited us today and took some excellent photos at Upper Trebanso Lock. Have a look at the Wales Online website for the Evening Post report  of the work being done there and just south of Pontardawe Playing Fields.
