We were delighted to host the #ShepaddlesCymru on tour at Coed Gwilym Park, Clydach, on Saturday 29th August. They offered two coaching sessions. Participants in each session were put into three smaller groups, setting out at ten minute intervals to provide social distancing on the water and towpath.

The crafts of choice were kayaks and paddle boards. The instructors provided advice, practical skills and health and safety knowledge. The Swansea Canal Society team assisted and sanitised all equipment and boats after each use.

The Friends of Coed Gwilym Park offered refreshments, just what you need after a couple of hours paddling. The day was a huge success, thank you to CanoeWales and Swansea Council, and hopefully we can host another event in the future.
