Today saw a return to much cooler conditions with a little very welcome drizzle. The volunteers assembled once more at Trebanos to continue with a multitude of tasks including balsam bashing, weed removal, etc., etc.

Martin cut back vegetation from between the locks.

Dave trimmed back along the towpath.

Rhys treated timbers.

The main business for the day was to remove more stones from the upper lock and trundle them down to the lower lock where they will be used to repair the top of the chamber. The scaffolding awaits the arrival of the Waterway Recovery Group in September.

Time for tea with cakes provided by Alan and Jan. [Sorry for the awful photo – the lens must have misted up.]

Another excellent day’s work in much more pleasant conditions than the last couple of weeks.
