Today was warm and overcast but mercifully dry. The volunteers assembled in Pontardawe, with the majority continuing to clear the cut between Herbert Street bridge and the aqueduct, plus a handsome pair of splinter groups.

Martin and Alan W took to “Nellie” to tackle an enormous buddleia overhanging the cut between the bridges. They also practised their camouflage skills.

Gill and Ronnie made a great start to rubbing down the railings around the aqueduct.

Most of the volunteers barrowed old weed away to compost down and pulled fresh weed that will have to be left to drain for removal at a later date. Here are a few photos that give a flavour of a day’s hard labour.
