Getting the Message Across
We now have three great opportunities to publicise our work. Firstly, we will be having a 7′ by 3′ table in the Clydach Library from January 24th for a few weeks to show our photos and display our Winter Newsletter, our Welcome Brochure and our Membership forms. It will be unmanned for much of the time but as we have this space for a good long period we must produce a really vibrant display on our boards. We have to concentrate on the canal at, or very near Clydach. We must use old photos of the canal at Clydach and compare and contrast the modern view. In all the modern photos we must see volunteers working on the canal.
This is our first library display so if there is anyone out there reading this who has first hand advice do comment, please.
Secondly we now have use of a very, very large notice board at Virgin Media. We need to get material on it asap and it must be changed regularly. We must, of course, include photos of the Virgin Media volunteers who have given up so much of their free time to help us on the canal. Luckily we have many such photos.
Thirdly, we have been asked to ‘dress’ the Brownsters cafe as a Swansea Canal themed shop. We have a blank canvas. Many thanks to the owner for giving us this opportunity. Let’s take it with both hands.
