Photo Challenge
2023 Swansea Canal Photography Challenge Are you a keen photographer, or a casual snapper with a camera phone? Is nature and wildlife your thing? Do you sometimes walk the Swansea canal and enjoy the beautiful surroundings? Well read on…. During this 225th anniversary year of the Swansea canal, we in the Swansea Canal Society and our partners at the Canal & River Trust are asking “What is it that people like about the canal that keeps bringing visitors in?” So we’re suggesting a challenge. When you’re out and about near the canal, why not take a photograph of the things you like; perhaps colourful trees arched over the channel, the reflections of scenery in the water, some of our preserved heritage structures (bridges, locks, aqueducts, etc.), the varied wildlife like ducks and moorhens, or anything else that you find attractive along the canal route. We’ll shortly be posting details of how you can send us your pictures. Some of the best ones we’ll put in a gallery on our website and we hope that a lucky few will be selected for enlargement and display at a celebration event towards the end of 2023. If this appeals to you, keep checking our website for more details. We look forward to seeing the things that really matter to you. To whet your appetites, here are a few snaps taken recently by our volunteers. |
