SUNDAY WORK PARTY AT YNYSMEUDWY LOWER LOCK: 25.2.18
Michelle led the February Sunday Work Party to clean the Lower Lock railings in Ynysmeudwy. Here is her account of a sunny and very cold outing. Well done to each and every one of them.
“I have arrived back after a very successful Sunday Working Party up at the Ynysmeudwy Lower Lock. There were four of us this month, and what we lacked in numbers was more than compensated by the enthusiasm to get stuck in. I decided that it was still too cold for painting railings at Herbert Street so we would clean the railings around the lock chamber at Ynysmeudwy. I’ve attached a ‘before’ shot and an ‘after’ shot, plus some photos of the team. We began at approximately 10.30am, paused for coffee and biscuits in the sunshine at 12.30, and finished working at 1.45pm.
The railings are looking so much better now, and could be repainted sometime in the coming months. We received thanks and appreciative comments from several passing walkers. Now to do the same for the railings on the Upper Lock. I need a Society banner for the Sunday Work Parties and possibly some leaflets too!”
