TESCO, CO-OP AND WRG: OUR SINCERE THANKS.

Thanks to the funds raised by  the  customers  of  the Tesco Supermarket in Pontardawe and the Co-op Supermarket in Clydach we have been able to purchase a flat bed trailer that is capable of carrying our canoes and kayaks as well as  performing numerous other canal related tasks. We thank the Co-op in Clydach for choosing us to be one of their recipients of the stores ‘carrier bag levy’ and ‘own brand donation’ initiatives.   We are equally grateful to Tesco in Pontardawe for choosing us as one of their three selected charities for the month of August and the many Tesco customers who chose us by putting the red and blue Tesco counters in our glass box in the store foyer.

We are also extremely grateful to the volunters at the Waterway Recovery  Group who travel up and down the thousands of miles of canal throughout the UK carrying out repairs and restoration at their Summer Camps. Every so often they have to pension off their own camp trailers and buy new ones. They offered one such veteran trailer to us and, as we are well aware of the WRG’s very high maintenance standards,we were very pleased to accept this offer.

This trailer, too, will be of the greatest value to us in our restoration work along the Swansea Canal.
