THE WEEK AHEAD:19.10.14 – 25.10.14

Tuesday, 21st October: Work Party Meets at 8.15 at Brownsters Cafe, High Street, Clydach for breakfast or at the CRT depot Hebron Road, Clydach at 9.15am where we will be loading up the tools etc. If you want a third meet up time/venue we will be working south of Clydach Lock (not the Aqueduct this week) from 9.30. The work will include removing duckweed and Canadian pond week from the channel, cutting back the overhanging vegetation from the off-side, and planting daffodil and allium bulbs at Clydach Lock.

All welcome. Please make an effort to attend this very important meeting. It is vital for the future of the restoration of the Swansea Canal.

Friday, 24th October: Meeting with KOSMOS PAPAVASILEIOU in the Clydach Heritage Centre at 5.00pm. Kosmos is a student at Swansea University who is preparing a model restoration feasibility study on the Swansea Canal for his degree. He has chosen the Godre’r Graig to Ystalyfera section for the project. The report will be augmented with hydraulic models of locks etc.
