Yes, it’s ‘Clydach Aqueduct 2;The Sequel’. Following up on the fantastic start our first visitors from Virgin Media gave to the improvements to the Aqueduct area in October, we welcomed another thirteen volunteers today. Six of them chose to complete the clearance of the brick-built paths leading down to the river and the Aqueduct cascade.

They all worked together to reveal the lovely brick path once more, where others helped with litter clearance and recycling.

Some could not contain their excitement at being so close to the waterfall.[singlepic id=751 w=320 h=240 float=none]
The other half grabbed the long handled drag forks and hoes and engaged in some synchronised silt shifting. It was tough work.

When nothing more could be reached from the bank two mud lovers were delegated to go into the canal and get it out by hand and shovel.

By one thirty the last shovelful was put in the wheelbarrow and the channel was two feet wider.

We thank each and every volunteer for their good humour and hard work. Gill, Janet, Alvena and Liz were the providers of a great lunch of soup, cake, tea and biscuits and the smooth organisation was largely due once again to Gill at the SCS and Martin and Bea at Virgin Media.
