Volunteers Work Rewarded: ‘Coast and Country’, 16.11.18. ITV Wales, 8.00pm.
We welcomed the cameras and presenters of ITV Wales ‘Coast and Country’ to the canal some four weeks ago. They suggested that the piece they recorded would be broadcast in the current series of the programe and they have been true to their word. In next week’s ‘Radio Times’ the details for ‘Coast and Country’ on the TV page for Friday, November 16th read as follows: ‘Sion Jenkins meets volunteers giving up their free time to revitalise the Swansea Canal.’
This is great news. As the half hour programme includes four distinct slots each feature should have about six minutes. On the day of recording the cameras concentrated on the canoes at Coed Gwilym Park, the work we are doing to repair the eroded banks of the canal there, and the plans we have for the Clydach Buried Lock site (shown above). It was great that Sion took the time to interview so many of our volunteers.
