Breaking News: Green Flag Award to the Swansea Canal Society

Lucy Prisk, the Green Flag Award Co-ordinator for Keep Wales Tidy, has  emailed us to let us know officially that the Swansea Canal Society has, for the third year running, been successful in being awarded a Green Flag Community Award for 2018/19. She wrote:-

“Huge congratulations to all of you and to your amazing fellow community volunteers . Without you these wonderful green spaces would not exist and would not support the amazing wildlife and biodiversity they do. Give yourselves a pat on the back from me!

Best wishes and well done, I look forward to seeing as many of you as possible at Barry on the 18th.”

Toby Morris, Michelle Davidson, Paul Rapsey, John Allen from the SCS and  Kristian and Paul from our wonderful litter picking team at Whitethorn’s Day Care Centre will be attending the Awards Event in Barry on July 18th. We will have a full report and pictures when they return.

We thank Keep Wales Tidy for their continued acknowledgement of  the work done by the Swansea Canal Society and all our volunteers.
