THE WEEK AHEAD: 28TH AUGUST TO 4TH SEPT 2016

TUESDAY  30TH AUGUST: Work party meets between 8.00 and 9.00am at Brownsters Cafe, High Street, Clydach.  Work commences at Trebanos Lower Lock at 9.30 to dredge the canal below the lock in preparation for the Swansea Science Week event on Tuesday 6th September when Canoes will travel from Coed Gwilym Park to see how the lock used to work. The vistors will  view close-up the Trebanos Lower Lock chamber from the canoes.  They will have the chance to see a fully working model of the lock before they depart from Coed Gwilym Park and also be able to follow the timeline of the canal’s history in the Clydach Heritage Centre. TUESDAY 30th AUGUST: Canoe and kayak hire from Coed Gwilym Park, Clydach from 10.00am to 2.00pm (last hire 1.30). This is the last week of our Tuesday school holidays opening. Canoes £7.00, kayaks £5 and £4. One mile of canoeing along this beautiful section of  our canal. Full terms and conditions under Canoe Hire on the website.

SUNDAY 4TH SEPTEMBER: Canoe hire from Coed Gwilym Park from 11.00am to 3.00pm (last hire 2.30pm). Prices and full terms and conditions as above.
