Fourth Species of Bat on the Swansea Canal
Thanks to the wonderful sonar detectors that Rhi Bevan bought with her to the Swansea Canal bat walk on Saturday night (31st of May) we can now add the Common Noctule Bat to the list of bats living along the Swansea Canal.
We already knew that we have the Common Pipistrelle, the Soprano Pipistelle and the Daubenton Bat living with us on the canal but it was a real fillip to the bio diversity of the Swansea Canal to know that the Noctules are also here.
