THE WEEK AHEAD: 28TH FEBRUARY TO 5TH MARCH 2016

SUNDAY 28TH FEBRAURY: WORK PARTY MEETS AT CLYDACH LOCK (NEXT TO THE VALE INCO WORKS) AT 9.15 AM.
We will be demolishing the brieze block wall on the tow path side prior to using local stone (blue pennant sandstone) and lime mortar to rebuild it traditonally. There will also be preparatory work necessary to be done before the M&S volunteers arrive to help us on Tuesday. Thanks to Richard Thomas (Blacksmith) for permission to use his land to leave the materials on.

TUESDAY MARCH 1ST: WORK PARTY MEETS AT BROWNSTERS CAFE, HIGH STREET, CLYDACH BETWEEN 8.00 AND 9.00AM. Work commences at 9.30am at Clydach Lock.
We will be joined at 10.00am by the M&S volunteers who will learn how to build a stone wall with lime and mortar. Other volunteers will learn how to repoint the Lock chamber walls, while others will clear vegetation at the lock and at the weir to the north of the the Old Highways Depot.
