THE WEEK AHEAD: SEPTEMBER 5TH TO SEPTEMBER 11TH.

School group canoes (5)Tuesday 6th September: The Power of Water; Coed Gwilym Park, from 10.30am.

Have you ever wondered how a canal works and how boats can climb hills? The British Science Festival is coming to Swansea and we will be hosting, jointly with the Friends of Clydach Heritage Centre, an event entitled the Power of Water. There will be canoe rides to Trebanos lock and local guides will explain how the canal operated. There will be a model of Lower Trebanos Lock lock to show how boats travelled up and down hill. Come along and see how it all happened, from 10:30am.

NB: Extra SCS Volunteers are needed to man the canoe store at lunch time (12.00 to 14.00). Please  attend if at all possible.

Sunday 11th September: Canoe and kayak hire from Coed Gwilym Park from 11.00am to 3.15pm. Last hire at 14.30pm. Canoes £7, kayaks £5 and £4. Full terms and conditions under Canoe Hire on the website.
