DUMP, RAMP AND RAKE: 12.12.17.

lorry01Ah, bitter chill it was! No cementing or bulb planting possible at the Old Highways depot in Pontardawe Road Clydach today. What did arrive though, in a 10 ten bulk order, was lot of stone dust. This is for the ramp up to and across the towpath to give a reasonable gradient for the tarmac lorries who are due to arrive on the 13th December.  The work to tarmac the new towpath should take two days.

lorry05                      20171213_090746The stone dust was dumped in one big heap and all our volunteers then got to work  with drag forks, shovels and rake to  form it into a a gentle downward slope.

20171213_090844   And this we achieved.  All is ready for the tarmac.
