Family Adventure Day
To coincide with the launch of the Summer 2017 canoe and kayak hire scheme, an event was held on Sunday 16th April in partnership with Cwmtawe Cycle Group, the Heritage Centre and Clydach Bowls Club to showcase the facilities at Coedgwilyn Park and the activities offered by the participating groups.
Although the weather put a bit of a dampner on proceedings, the children and parents who took part greatly enjoyed themselves, collecting participation stars on their certificates for paddling, cycling, bowls, running, playground and fitness equipment sessions, football, a treasure hunt, logic and memory and co-ordination challenges, and heritage and educational displays.
The boat hire scheme was also encouragingly busy, repeat visits were promised
by many visitors and several discussions about membership took place, making
the day very successful in promoting the all groups and raising awareness in the
local community in a fun and informative way.
