GO CANOEING WEEK: 26th May to the 3rd June 2018.
CANOE WALES ARE ORGANISING THE BIG ADVENTURE CANOE WEEK.
The week runs from 26th May – 3rd June. The Big Adventure was so popular last year that British Canoeing have decided to keep the same theme for 2018. You can learn more about the week at: http://www.gocanoeingweek.org.uk/organisers
The Swansea Canal Society are participating in the Go Canoeing Week on Sunday 27th May, Tuesday 29th May, and on Sunday 3rd June.
If you are using the Go Canoeing Chart you can count the 2 miles from Coed Gwilym Park to Trebanos every time you use our canoes and kayaks on those three dates.
On Sunday 27th June we will be open from 10.30am to 2.30 pm. Canoes cost £7 per boat, rafts are £10.00, and our two double kayaks cost £5 each. Single kayaks are £4.00. Full details of terms and conditions are on the website under ‘Canoe Hire’.
On Tuesday, 29th May, there will be an unique opportunity to receive a comprehensive lesson in Kayaking from qualified instructors who run the Ponty Paddlers . We will be open from 10.30 to 3.00pm. There will be a small charge for the instruction. Follow the link below to see the basics of safe canoeing that will be taught:-
On Sunday, June 3rd we will again be open from 10.30am to 2.30pm. Details as for Sunday, May 27th as above.
15 to 17 vets from the Clydach area are also coming as a team on Sunday 3rd June at 2 30pm at the end of the usual hire.
All these events are based at the Canoe Store, next to the canal in Coed Gwilym Park, SA6 5NS.
