Local Development Plan
The closing date for making representations to the NPT Local Development Plan is October the 15th. The SCS will be strongly opposing the proposals to remove the route protection from the Swansea Canal between Trebanos terminus and Herbert Street in Pontardawe (the piped section) and the section from Godrer Graig to the Neath Port Talbot boundary (just north of the Ystalyfera Aqueduct). This is a vital Heritage Area and the restoration of the canal will help in regenerating the towns along the canal.
The information is on the Neath and Port Talbot Local Development Plan, Page 78, Para 5.5.22 Policy BE3 The Canal Network, on the draft LDP plan.
