As part of Volunteers’ Week 2023, Neath Port Talbot Culture and Heritage Volunteers Fair was held in the fabulous Victoria Gardens in Neath on 5th June 2023. Many local groups, including the Swansea Canal Society, set out their stalls in the shade where they had the opportunity to chat to visitors and network amongst themselves. It was a pleasure to talk to the visitors, many of whom reminisced about the Swansea Canal and the Neath & Tennant Canals. We spoke about the work of the Society, our Canoe & Kayak hire and plans for the future. Several visitors expressed an interest in joining us and one came to our work party the very next day. An excellent event in glorious weather with plenty of time to chat to volunteers both old and new. |
