OUR NEW WIDE-TYRE TIPPER TRACTOR IN ACTION: 27.3.18

20180327_100329     Our new tipper tractor, bought with money generously made available by the Mynydd y Bettws Wind Farm Community Fund saw action for the first time this morning in Coed Gwilym Park. We had a delivery of cement and stone dust which we would normally have to barrow in wheelbarrows from the bowling green to the Canoe Store. The labour saving effect of the new tipper on backs and arms is amazing. The tipper can take three times the weight of one wheelbarrow and the five speed motor makes the pushing of it easy.

20180327_123111The materials delivered will be used along the canal to repair the towpath edge which is crumbling into the canal. Sand bags will be filled with stonedust and cement and used to make a vertical wall. Coping stones will be laid on top to make a decorative finish.
