TUESDAY 18TH APRIL: Day trip to the Mon and Brec Canal to see the wonderful work that the Restoration Partnership is doing between Cwmbran and Newport. We will meet Richard Dommett who is the project manager at the Llantarnam site south of Cwmbran. He will give us a talk on the progress so far and take us to see the restored locks and the new-style lock gates which last four times as long as traditional oak ones. An inspiration for the work we can do on the Swansea Canal.

SUNDAY 23RD APRIL: Canoe and Kayak Hire from Coed Gwilym Park Canoe Store. A one mile section of canal is navigable up to Trebanos Locks. Canadian open Canoes (seating up to 2 adults and two young children) £7.00, Double kayaks £5.00, and single kayaks £4.00.  For full terms and conditions see the entry  under ‘Canoe Hire’ on our webiste. Opens from 10.30am.
