Tuesday: 21st February: Work Party meets at Brownsters Cafe, HighStreet, Clydach between 8.00am  and 9.00am.

Work starts at 9.30 in the car park of St. Benedict’s Church, Pontardawe Road, Clydach.  Fr. Henry Nevin and the church authoritities have generously agreed to allow us to remove a couple of sections of the boundary wall between the church and our part of the Highways Depot. This will give us access from Pontardawe Road to the work site where we will be restoring the tow path later this year.  So, in return, we will be clearing the brambles from the church flower beds in the car park.

At Coed Gwilym Park, fifty yards away, we hope to also have a visit from Paul Jones, of the City and County of Swansea, who is running the Rural Communities Development Fund grant applications. We have submitted a claim to the RCDF to help us and the Canal and River Trust dredge the section of canal between Coed Gwylim Park and Trebanos Locks. Paul may be accompanied by members of the Swansea Local Action Group who refer the most suitable applications to the Welsh Government for consideration. We will know who exactly is coming to vist us by Monday the 20th.
