MONDAY 22ND OF OCTOBER: THE WORK PARTY DAY HAS BEEN CHANGED THIS WEEK TO A MONDAY AS WE ARE DELIGHTED TO WELCOME THE ITV WALES ‘COAST AND COUNTRY’ TEAM TO THE SWANSEA CANAL. OUR VOLUNTEERS MEET IN BROWNSTERS CAFE, HIGH STREET, CLYDACH BETWEEN 8.00 AND 9.00AM AS USUAL AND WE WILL START WORK AT 9.15AM FROM COED GWILYM PARK . WE WILL BE ABLE TO SHOW THE ‘COAST AND COUNTRY’ CAMERAS THE WORK WE ARE CURRENTLY DOING REBUILDING THE ERODED BANKS ON THE TOW PATH EDGE NORTH OF THE CANOE STORE AND WE WILL HAVE SOME CANOES ON THE CANAL TO COLLECT LITTER AND HIGHLIGHT THE COMMUNITY ASPECT OF OUR WORK. WE WILL ALSO VISIT THE BURIED CLYDACH LOCK SITE WHERE WE ARE WORKING TO RESTORE THE PIPED CANAL, BURIED LOCK AND ALSO BUILD A SLIPWAY, DRY DOCK AND BOATHOUSE.
