THE WEEK AHEAD: 25TH JAN TO 1ST FEB 2015,

Tuesday 27th January:  Definitely the last week of clearing up south of Clydach Lock for the Work Party. There are about twenty piles of soil and mud and vegetation waiting to be moved from the tow path verge. We have the pontoon to take it down the canal towed on the back of Nellie. All hands on the tow path side then this week. We meet in Brownsters cafe, Clydach at 8.15 and collect the tools and float the boat and pontoon at 9.15. Work commences south of the Lock at 9.30.

Wednesday 28th January: Work Party at the Swansea Canal Nature reserve at Ynysmeudwy helping Ed Tucker of the NPT Wild Life Team. Meet at the southern entrance at 9.30.

Wednesday 28th January:  Gordon and Martin will be attending the Pre-Inspectors Briefing Meeting at 11.00am at the Princess Theatre Port Talbot in preparation for the NPT LDP Inspectors hearings in April. We have both the piped section between Trebanos and the Mamas and Papas Night Club Pontardawe, as well as the Godre’r Graig to Ystalyfera (Twrch Aqueduct )sections  to safeguard.  At present the protection on these sections is being downgraded by the new wording of the Local Development Plan.
