TIMBER DELIVERY RECEIVED WITH THANKS: 24.4.18

THE FIRST TIMBERS SAFELY STACKED IN THE YARD.

Using both our flat bottomed boat ‘Nellie’ and a single kayak from the canoe store, plus numerous  pole-wielding helpers on the towpath, we nudged the old timbers from the demolished house in Clydach down to the Old Council Yard. The largest of the timbers easily straddled the width of the canal so had to be manhandled whenever they decided to take a rest and form a dam  which  soon produced a log jam of smaller planks.

It was a slow job but rather satisfying. The timbers will be used to build a safe store for all our equipment need for the restoration of the Council Yard. We thank the owner of the house for allowing us to take the timbers.
