TREBANOS LOWER LOCK: RESTORATION: 25.8.15
The sand bags full of stone dust and cement were put in place for the foundations for the new embankment retaining wall. The specially cut sleepers will be placed on top of the bags next Tuesday. Then the wall will be built using local stone and will hopefully be as attractive as the one at the top of the Upper Lock.
The team responsible for the foundations are shown at the end of their hard graft in the bottom photo.
Meanwhile, the endless task of repointing the L0wer Lock Chamber goes on. We are two thirds of the way there and it is looking very good. C0ngratulations to everyone involved in both tasks.
