WHAT CAME OUT OF UPPER TREBANOS LOCK: 7.8.18
Well, I finally got my pictures of what the WRG and SCS volunteers got out ofhe Upper Trebanos Lock in one morning. Firstly, many Blue Bags of detritus, rubbish and unmentionables, neatly bound waiting for the Swansea Bin men to take away.
Now this is gold dust! Stone. Not just any old stone but Blue Pennant Sandstone. The local stone from which the canal was built and which will once again be put to good use repairing those structures.
There should be a third picture here of all the scrap metal recovered but, fortuitously, I ran into a scrap metal dealer and he too k it all away. So here is the lock chamber as it is now. Mucb to do but we heartily thank the WRG for their mornings work.
