Work Party: Tuesday 12th December 2023
This morning the volunteers met at Pont John in Clydach to tackle the weed in and around the canal. The weather was a bit grim – cold with occasional sharp showers – but we all soldiered on bravely. Dave, Christina & Moira cut back brash along the towpath (sorry about the lousy photo, ladies!) whilst the rest of us pulled weed and cleared the stone edging. |
Tea was taken in the shelter of the nearly-complete Clydach Canal Centre. Special thanks are due to Alan & Jan for providing mince pies and a delicious sponge cake plus a very welcome tot of port! |
After the break, work continued with the weed and Andy, Chris & Alan T reinstated an edging sleeper that had almost tumbled into the cut. |
Not the most pleasant of days to be out and about but nothing stops the doughty SCS volunteers! |
