Work Party: Tuesday 13th May 2025

Yet another scorchingly sunny day! Chris and Sharon went to the Buried Lock site to continue with planting saplings but the rest of us toiled away at the Swansea Canal Centre.

Alan tidied up the shiny fencing, under Anna’s supervision.

Anna moved on to make sure that Jan and Moira were taking care of the plants around the boat basin.

Bob and Pete de-nailed a couple of telegraph poles that will be used to extend the walkway.

Most of the gang, before and after tea, attempted to bring some order to a very disorganised store.

Martin tended to his beloved garden. Breaking news: he trimmed the fennel!

Paul helped Jan and Moira by taking wood chip to mulch the flower beds.

Sue and Mike, this time supervised by Cerys, met to compare notes on the quality and quantity of the day’s garbage.

Tea and chat, with today’s baker being Jan. Andy disgraced himself with a particularly lovely chocolate cake.

All these tasks continued after tea, with Chris helping to water the plants.

A bit of a bitty day today but lots done in the boiling heat. Oh for a drop of rain – Stop Press: We got it redoubled in spades later that day with tremendous thunderstorms!
