Work Party: Tuesday 1st April 2025

Yet another gloriously sunny day! The volunteers laboured at two sites, starting with Coed Gwilym Park:

Mike checked the contents of the canoe store in preparation for the opening of the boating season on Easter Sunday.

Pam and Andy planted a lovely selection of plants donated by Mike.

Dave cut back brash in order to speed the composting process.

Meanwhile, at the Swansea Canal Centre:

Admiral Bob set off on the maiden voyage of the restored trail boat from the safe haven of the new boat basin. God speed.

Bob and boat assisted the work party to lay more of the walkway which will link the Canal Centre to the slipway.

The gardeners were busy around the basin. Martin tended to the end bed while Moira and Chris planted and watered the euphorbia and penstemon.

Alan, assisted by Sharon and Paul, commenced fitting safety rails.

Tea was taken with sweet and savoury treats provided by Chris.

And finally, Gordon proudly showed off his ingenious post knocker. In reality, we think he is preparing for the forthcoming Cybermen convention.

Another grand day’s work. It truly is a pleasure to be out and about in such lovely weather.
