Work Party: Tuesday 25th March 2025

Today the weather was cool but sunny – perfect for a spot of hard labour around the Swansea Canal Centre.

Work continued to lay another section of path. The techniques developed last week proved invaluable.

Mike and David chipped the brash. The proceeds of their labours were used to mulch saplings.

John added the finishing touches to the vice.

In the new beds created around the boat basin, the gardeners planted a range of plants donated by volunteers. Martin added polyanthus to the well-established bed alongside the road.

Bob positioned the cleats he had salvaged last week and after tea tried attaching a motor to the trip boat.

Tea was taken with sweet and savoury treats provided by Ronnie. Note the old contemptibles practising for the James Palmer Budd lookalike competition.

This is Ronnie’s last week with the Society as she has decided to move on to pastures new. She will be sorely missed by all of us. Good luck Ronnie with whatever you choose to do next.
