Work Party: Tuesday 28th April 2026

Logistical issues meant that we had to work today at the Canal Centre rather than the Buried Lock as originally planned. Nothing daunted, we quickly reorganised and set to on a day that was rather chilly and windy but dry.

The gardeners tended to the flower beds and Chris M mowed around the stone barge.

John Gw fished assorted muck out of the boat basin. Andy, devoid of photographic record, cleared to bench in the workshop.

Alan and James secured the new tables and benches on the concrete slabs at the rear of the Centre.

Break time amongst the triffids! Chris G provided the cheesiest scones, the lemoniest lemon drizzle cake and the gooiest chocolate cake imaginable. Superb!

The border between the gravel path and the dock was cleared of scrub. Rocks were placed carefully and the gaps were filled with gravel.

The final view of the benches in place and the border completed.

Another super day’s work, not spoiled at all by the last minute change of plans.
