Work Party: Tuesday 2nd December 2025

Following on from last week’s stupendous effort, today we almost finished the the community garden. It is now looking fabulous. The weather was cold and showery but, as usual, it was good to be outdoors and working hard.

Task One was to install and secure the second table and benches. This set-up includes a space for a wheelchair, making the new garden accessible to all.

Task Two was to lay a third slab to take a bench that will be secured in place once the concrete has set completely.

Elsewhere, Gary, Phil and Andy laboured long and hard to pull out yet more muck and weed. It must have been very muddy work as John Gr complimented Andy on “never looking so dirty”!

Tea was taken in the comfort of the workshop. Moira provided the tasty treats.

That’s it folks! The community garden is complete save for installing a bench and the information panel. It will prove to be a major and beautiful asset for many years to come.
