Work Party: Tuesday 3rd March 2026
|
Another glorious day and another chance for the volunteers to work at two locations on tasks that continued before and after the tea break. One group went to the Buried Lock site in Clydach where they continued to line the by-wash. Lance and Phil mixed the mortar and delivered it to the by-wash. Andy and new recruit Ian retrieved slag lumps and passed them to the laying team of Sue, Chris, James and Alan. Another few yards done today, making the job maybe 75% complete. |

Tea was taken accompanied by cheese bread and cakes baked by Andy. |

A particularly busy and productive day today, in lovely weather. It is astonishing to behold what a bunch of willing but ageing retirees can achieve. And finally a couple of different views of our activities: |

Gary paused in the back-breaking work of heaving weed to take a view of the gardeners across the cut. |
