Work Party: Tuesday 24th February 2026

Another warm and dry day saw the volunteers busy at two locations. Firstly, in Coed Gwilym Park, Gordon lead a team clearing the accumulated junk behind the canoe store. All the wood was cut into manageable chunks and then everything was taken to the skip at the Hidden Lock site. In addition, Sharon and James concreted in place the safety railings at the golf course sluice. |

Meanwhile, at the Canal Centre, all the stones and waste lumber were moved from the stone barge and piled up tidily before the barge was given a good weeding. It looks so much better now. |

Tea was taken in the sunshine, accompanied by Jan W’s fantastic cakes. We took the chance to sing “Happy Birthday” to Sue. |

The volunteers worked really hard today but it was a pleasure to be so busy in the lovely sunshine. |
