As part of our “225 in 2023” celebrations the Canal & River Trust hosted a week-long project to renovate Bridge 8. The event was open to anybody who wanted to gain hands-on experience of using traditional lime mortar. Today, Morgan Coles hosted the session and Alan & Sue from our Society plus two ladies from Swansea participated. Here are just a few photographs showing how to prepare the mortar, the state of the section being renovated and Alan & Morgan in action. |

A very informative session. The participants learned a great deal and were very happy with the hands-on experience. And the weather was fairly kind! |
