Take a look at these fabulous “Step-By-Step” guides to exploring the sections of the Swansea Canal that remain in water. They have been produced by Glandŵr Cymru – the Canal and River Trust in Wales – as a legacy project of “225 in 2023”, the celebration of the 225th anniversary of the canal. The guides provide invaluable information for you as you stroll along our beautiful canal. The towpath between Clydach and Pontardawe is fully accessible to all. There is a decent towpath between Pontardawe and Godre’r Craig but it can be rather narrow and muddy at times. Of course, you do not need to walk the whole distance in one go. Don’t forget to mark you progress on the guides as you go and note down what you see. If you are lucky, you may spot a kingfisher. You can obtain paper copies from the Swansea Canal Centre in Clydach or download them yourselves here: Clydach to Pontardawe Step by Step English Clydach to Pontardawe Step by Step Welsh |
