The Canal Beneath Our Feet: Gable End Down 18.6.17.

hidden lock01 18-06-17    Only the wall of the building on the St. Benedict’s Church side still stands (photo left) and the gable end which covered part of the buried lock is now completely gone (along with the roof, of course).

The slabs covering the buried lock are immediately behind the Heras fencing in the foreground.

The photo on the right shows the amount of rubble that the demolition has produced. Our new visitor centre is the small portakabin next to the skip. This will be moved to a quieter (and more accessible!) corner of the Depot.

Thanks to Michelle for taking the photos.        hidden lock05
