The Week Ahead: Sunday 8th – Saturday 14th January 2023

Sunday 8th January: Work Party: Those wishing to participate should meet at Coed Gwilym Park at 9am. Proposed tasks for the day include: a) preparing and painting railings removed during the towpath diversion, ready for future re-use, b) repainting the lettering on the newly cleaned obelisk plaques, and c) repainting railings alongside the canoe slipway. Please bring appropriate clothing. Refreshments will be provided.

Tuesday 10th January: Work Party: Those wishing to eat breakfast should meet at the Roadhouse Cafe in Clydach at 8am. Volunteers should assemble in Coed Gwilym Park at 9am. The main task will be to secure and seal leaks to the roof of the canoe store. Other tasks will include clearing the grid at the top end of the Hidden Lock site and widening the entrance gates.

Cake and hot drinks will be provided but you must bring your own mug.

Tuesday 10th January: The Annual General Meeting of the Swansea Canal Society will be held in the New Inn, Clydach at 7pm. The AGM will be followed by a Trustee’s Open Meeting. Papers for both meetings will be available here.
