Work Party: Tuesday 28th March 2023

Oh dear – a wet day! The somewhat depleted troupe of stalwarts concentrated their efforts in and around Coed Gwilym Park. Mike and Alan T continued to tidy the canoe store in preparation for the hire season that opens on Easter Sunday. Everything looking shipshape and Bristol fashion, chaps.

Downstream of the Buried Lock, the path was given a much needed clean. Some of the debris was taken as mulch for the new garden in the park. As we trudged off in the rain to take tea in the park, we looked back on beautifully clean route. An excellent effort in the rain.

Time for tea and a chat in the drizzle. Thank goodness for the shelter offered by the store and the cakes baked by Alan W.

Elsewhere, and sadly without photographic record, Peter and John Gw tidied the Hebron Road store. Annette and Gill worked on the exhibit in the National Waterfront Museum, that opens on 1st April.

James Daley and his team were hard at work in the Buried Lock site, today concentrating on the portage ramp.

That’s it for another week, folks. The weather was not kind but nothing dampened our spirits!
